Responsibilities
The selected candidate is responsible for providing executive direction in all maintenance, repair, and/or replacement of infrastructure systems and tunnels, including hydraulics and structural components. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: overseeing progress of multiple projects to ensure that programs remain within budgetary and design parameters; developing short- and long-term tactics and plans for operations and identify alternatives to reduce capital expenditures; and overseeing development and administration of capital budget. The selected candidate will also be responsible for reconciling budget discrepancies between forecast and actual expenditures with finance officers; managing allocation of limited resources to ensure production goals are met and ensure safe and efficient operations; and overseeing the procurement, storage, and delivery of materials. In addition, the selected candidate will direct management of workforce regarding safety, job performance, employee availability, technical skills development, disciplinary and personnel actions, labor relations, job selections and schedules; interact with union representatives and develop strategies for contract negotiations as well as be the Executive representative in dealing w/executives from CPM, OMB, OSS, the MTA, NYC Agencies and internal/external Customers and assist in emergency response efforts as required.
Education and Experience
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in project maintenance or business management; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Twelve (12) years of full-time related experience and eight (8) years must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of rapid transit operations, with respect to structural and buildings inspection, maintenance, repair, reconstruction, and rehabilitation.
- Familiarity with civil engineering principles and practices, construction techniques and project management.
- Demonstrated ability to apply managerial skills.
- Detailed knowledge of subway or: railroad Maintenance of Way operations is highly desirable, including knowledge of the maintenance and construction of components of track, infrastructure, electrical, and signal systems.
