COMPENSATION
Salary Range: Min. $96,277- Max. $136,290 (Grade D, Hay Pt 634)
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is accountable for directing, managing, and coordinating the development and production of efficient, economical, and reliable timetables and work programs for one of three Squads (IRT, BMT, or IND) that correspond to groups of subway lines in the Department of Subways/Division of Service Delivery, for the production of both Picks and supplements. The position in addition is responsible for coordinating, with other units in Operations Planning and with Service Delivery, the planning and development of the weekly service plan packages that specify when and where capital and planned maintenance work can occur on the subway and how service will operate in conjunction with that work. The position is also responsible for training of new staff in the Squads and for refresher training of existing staff.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
DESIRED SKILLS
Substantial knowledge of subway ridership, schedule making, and transit service analysis, as well as of NYCT rail operations, route network, service policies, and union contracts. Knowledge of statistics and budgeting. Familiarity with and skilled in the use of computer systems that produce timetables and work programs. An ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with transportation managers, service planners, union representatives, and other individuals or departments as needed.
