Position Title:                 Bus Depot Administrative Support, Emerging Talent Intern
Hourly Rate:                  $19.00 (Undergraduate)
 
OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT:
 
As an essential part of New York City’s urban landscape, MTA buses play a crucial role in keeping the city moving efficiently and sustainably. With a fleet of over 5,900 buses operating on more than 300 routes and 2,000 miles of city streets, facilitating the daily commute for millions of residents and visitors, these buses connect communities across the five boroughs, ensuring access to workplaces, schools, healthcare, and recreational destinations.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare maintenance & transportation reports and analytics.
  • Tracking union overtime hours for maintenance/transportation.  
  • Track FMLA Usage for maintenance/transportation.
  • Various spreadsheet creation upon managerial request.
  • Manage computer shared drive folders for maintenance/transportation.
  •  Run SPEARS report for Maintenance.
  • Run and maintain fuel reporting/reconciliation.
  • Filing transportation and maintenance records.
 
PROJECTS:
  • Intern will be assigned to perform Monthly / Quarterly / Semi Annual Depot Self Audits.  
  • Intern will collect, analyze and report or track data pertaining to depot operations using NYCT Unified Timekeeping System, Spears and Service Now.
  • Intern will work on the Livonia project to include learning the Automated Records Management System process while maintaining files and keeping track of important departmental documents.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
  • The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills. 
  • The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.
 
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • Matriculated in an undergraduate program in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA AND/OR
  • Major(s) Preferred: Business Administration/Management, Human Resources, Liberal Arts, Computer Science/Information Technology, Communications, Transportation or related fields.
