Position Objective:
The purpose of this position is to administer the scheduling process, resulting in optimal crew and equipment assignments in support of MNR train schedules. Produce corresponding employee timetables, public timetables, equipment plans, crew schedules, and GCT Track assignments balancing operational requirements, customer needs, and infrastructure maintenance requirements. Manage, plan, and organize the production and distribution of official and pocket timetables, Hudson Rail Link bus schedules, and special event timetables to ensure accuracy of information and timely distribution to various locations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform analysis of operating schedule performance (OTP) for MNR, Amtrak, and SLE trains.
- The evaluation of customer impacts and operating impacts of specific schedule proposals.
- Perform analyses of service scenarios in support of short-term service planning efforts (i.e., operational analysis of proposed schedule changes).
- Development of Operating Schedule Booklets and Operating Schedule Order documents.

According to the New York State Public Officers Law & the MTA Code of Ethics, all employees who hold a policymaking position must file an Annual Statement of Financial Disclosure (FDS) with the NYS Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government (the “Commission”).
Employees driving company vehicles must complete defensive driver training once every three years for current MNR drivers; or within 180 days of hire or transfer for an employee entering an authorized driving position.
