Salary Range: 

Assistant Transit Management Analyst I: $65,954 - $78,079 (TA)
Assistant Transit Management Analyst II: $76,577 - $85,288 (TA)

Associate Transit Management Analyst:  $86,565 - $112,083 (TA)

 

Responsibilities: 

Executive-level, analysts are needed to provide support to the Office of the Chief Officer, Operations Control Center (OCC) of Service Delivery.  Each analyst will act as a representative and liaison to facilitate and coordinate communication and interaction among senior staff, division heads, other internal and external stakeholders, and government/community relations on matters pertaining to operational issues, employees, projects, and policy. This role is also the main point of contact between the Chief Officer, NYCT Departments and divisions, employees, and employee representatives.  The incumbents will research assigned topics and advise as confidantes and strategic consultants, aiding in the development/implementation of objectives, short and long-term goals and visions; propose strategies for resolving multi-faceted interdepartmental issues; plan, direct and handle special projects as required.  The selected will be responsible for administrative activities including, but not limited to, maintaining databases, preparing reports, extracting/processing/analyzing data, the set up and preparation of meetings and correspondences; disseminating information, questions, and directives on behalf of the Chief Officer, OCC; facilitating and coordinating communication and interaction among the senior staff; pursuing follow-ups of pending items with senior staff, and briefing the Chief Officer accordingly.

 

Education and Experience: 

Assistant Transit Management Analyst I and II:

  1. A master's degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and one year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports; or
  2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in "1" above; and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "1" above.

 

Associate Transit Management Analyst:

  1. A master's degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and two years of full-time satisfactory professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports. One year of experience must have been in the transportation industry; or
  2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in "1" above; and three years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above. One year of this experience must have been in the transportation industry.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency in the use Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Tableau, Power BI applications.
  • Strong writing, research, and interpretation skills.
  • Ability to function independently with limited work direction.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.

 

Selection Method:

Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.

All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.

 

Other Information:

As an employee of MTA-NYC Transit, you may be required to complete an annual financial disclosure statement with the State of New York, if your position earns more than $105,472 (this figure is subject to change) per year or if the position is designated as a policy maker.
