JOB TITLE: Operations Analyst, General Accounting Fixed Assets
SALARY RANGE: $ 45,125 - $75,208

LOCATION: 333 West 34th Street, New York, NY 10001
HOURS OF WORK: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm (8 hours/day)

SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for performing bank reconciliations for all MTA agencies. This includes monitoring bank account activities to find discrepancies while also communicating with Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Treasury to identify and resolve internal issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations as assigned by supervisor
- Maintain proper support for bank reconciliations
- Communicate variances and required correcting actions to Payroll and Accounts Payable after reviewing with supervisor
- Follow up on outstanding reconciling items on a consistent basis and appropriately document responses
- Ensure that all assignments are completed with the highest quality and within agreed to time guidelines and key performance indicators
- Complete monthly account analysis as assigned by supervisor
- Track and report status of work
- Maintain appropriate level of process, functional and technical knowledge
- Support other team members
- Answer questions from management
- Comply with MTA policies, practices, and procedures
- Develop and update operating procedures and training materials as needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Possess knowledge of General Accounting principles
- Working knowledge and use of PeopleSoft or related database software
- Ability to process requests consistently with general supervision
- Ability to assess problems and promptly resolve or identify appropriate team to resolve
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with and collaborate across the BSC at all levels within and outside the organization
- Strong time management skills and ability to manage individual assignments
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Understanding of MTA Finance policies, practices and procedures preferred
- Familiarity with performance metrics and ability to meet identified targets preferred
- Working knowledge and use of office productivity tools (e.g., MS Outlook, MS Office applications) and web-based applications preferred
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Accounting, Business or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree with 1-year relevant experience in Accounting, Business, or related field
- Experience in a shared service environment
