JOB TITLE: Deputy Inspector
DEPT/DIV: MTA Police Department
SALARY: $199,861.00*
SUPERVISOR: Inspector or Deputy Chief
LOCATION: Various (locations within the MTA service area)
HOURS OF WORK: 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week with 3 consecutive rest days
*This position and salary are represented by the COA.
Summary:
The Department is seeking qualified employees who are interested in being considered for assignment to the rank of Deputy Inspector.
Responsibilities:
Generally, Deputy Inspectors supervise and/or oversee the proper performance of police duty from subordinate members assigned to the various branches of the department; prepare investigations and reports on police conditions and activities; perform all additional functions prescribed for the rank by relevant laws, rules, procedures, orders or directives of the department; and perform administrative duties in department offices and commands, and also perform such other special assignments as directed by the Chief of Police.
The Deputy Inspector will be accountable for all matters within the assigned area of operations, including but not limited to supervision of subordinate ranks, administration, security, emergency calls, investigations, crowd control, critical incident management and any assistance as may be required by a police presence in order to assure a safe and secure environment for MTA customers and employees.
