Salary range: $93,473 (min) - $132,671.55 (max)

Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be accountable for providing managerial direction, coordinating activities, and developing maintenance initiatives related to emergency response for MOW-Track and Third Rail Operations which includes CAT and ERT. The responsibilities will include but are not limited to scheduling and managing work assignments related to inspections and defect/ incident resolution for emergency responses; developing daily lineups, strategic and tactical plans to enable the subdivision to better utilize limited material and workforce resources and minimize service disruptions. Responsibilities will also include making on-site evaluations of emergency situations and recommending appropriate level and type of response/ repair required; providing timely coordination and implementation of safety procedures; and disseminating and implementing policy changes and modifications. The selected candidate will ensure personnel adheres to MWI Section 3, 3rd Rail Standards, TRO Power Operation Manual Instructions, Formal Maintenance Instructions (FMI's), MTA NYC Transit Rules and Regulations, and Office of System Safety Policies and Procedures. In addition, the selected candidate is also responsible for the safety of subordinate employees, which includes monitoring and reporting of employee accidents, work site safety and response to safety issues/incidents that may occur within the subdivisions as well as manage overtime and manage accident investigations. Lastly, the selected candidate will oversee subordinates and perform duties that may include developing cost estimates and coordinating general orders; assist as needed and liaise with upper management as well as respond to emergency situations 24/7 and must be prepared to walk the underground or elevated structure.
 
Education and Experience:
Six (6) years of full-time related experience, of which three (3) years must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity; Or
 
A satisfactory combination of education and experience. 
Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of Transit operations with respect to trades related to 3rd Rail system maintenance, track and infrastructure maintenance and construction, railroad industry safety standards, material procurement and labor contracts. 
  • Extensive experience in repair; testing, maintenance, reconstruction, rehabilitation and installation of Track and 3rd Rail components. 
  • Ability to schedule track outages (GO's) with work train usage and power removal. 
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem solving skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Knowledge of NYCT rules and regulations. 
  • Must be knowledgeable of the EAM System. 
Selection Method:
Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.
 
All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
