Compensation
Salary range: $93,473 $147,748
(Grade D/ 594 points)
UTLO compression rate: $131,500
 
 
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be accountable for performing managerial work of varying levels of difficulty regarding the Communication Based Train Control system (CBTC). This will incorporate the acceptance and commissioning of contractual Bench Test Equipment (BTE) which includes both Wayside and Carborne systems additionally; design, develop and the fabrication of internally designed test fixtures, diagnosis, testing/repair processes, installation, and documentation of the Wayside and Carborne systems.  
Responsibilities also include attending meetings with other MTA/NYCT departments, vendors, and consultants to discuss issues and arrive at solutions pertaining to the CBTC BTE’s, repair, and maintenance.  The Superintendent will also generate monthly reports pertaining to the progress of repairs, warranties, and the overall status of the various projects. Maintain a database of repairs associated with warranty and post warranty repairs and detail of work performed. 
The selected candidate is in immediate charge of the Electronics Integration (EI) hourly workforce and Professional Technical (PT) associated with CBTC work related assignments and will assign work, track labor hours, monitor, coordinate and document project productivity using the Spear Maintenance Management System and Kronos, monitor employee availability; perform maintenance audits as well as perform reports and take actions to correct deviations identified on safety walk-throughs and audits.  
 
Education and Experience
A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field of study, and 8 years of fulltime related experience of which 5 years must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity; Or 
A satisfactory combination of education and experience. 
 
Desired Skills 
  • Experience in writing technical documentation and correspondences.  
  • Experience in maintenance processes or research and development function of a large technical organization. 
  • Experience with the requirements of maintaining, repair, and testing of CBTC equipment. 
  • Experience with the contract assessment. 
  • Working knowledge of electronics, inclusive of hardware and software interdependency. 
  • Strong supervisory or project management skills. 
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Strong knowledge of NYCT and Subways rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
