Compensation: 
Salary range: $93,473- $132,672 
(Grade D/ 634 points) 
UTLO compression rate: $131,500 

Responsibilities:
 
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of communication support functions within EMD’s Telecommunications group supporting MTA Capital Programs and NYCT’s Department of Subways initiatives.  Primary responsibilities will include project management, specifically the network implementation of the Tek Tracking system onto EMD’s OT network; providing guidance to staff on the provisioning implementation and testing for network installations and its successful integration including the coordination of resources for all systems until project completion; and collaborating with MOW Engineering and Signals teams.  Other responsibilities will include managing the daily operation of EMD’s Contract Compliance group comprised of Professional and Technical, Supervisory and Hourly personnel, monitoring safety compliance, budget control, procurement, payroll, fleet management, asset management, and providing support for In-House construction installations of various communication systems. 

Education and Experience:
 
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Computer Science or a closely related field of study and eight (8) years of full-time related experience, of which five (5) years must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity; Or 
  
A satisfactory combination of education and experience.

 
Desired Skills: 
  • In-depth knowledge of various Data Transmission technologies supporting IP Networking and monitoring. 
  • Experience working with Professional & Technical, Supervisory and Hourly Personnel. 
  • Experience as a lead technical/manager of communications in an operating environment. 
  • Experience managing complex technical and operational incidents. 
  • Working Knowledge of EMD communication assets. 
  • Extensive knowledge of Section 19 of the NYCT Communication specifications. 
  • Familiarity with MTA-IT security guidelines. 
  • Knowledge of NYCT’s current Design Build Process. 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
