Responsibilities:
Assist management in the process of designing, scoping, and estimating projects for the in-house Track and Switch Capital program. Perform detailed walking inspections of tracks and switches in the NYCT system, including subway and elevated structures, on the mainline and in yards. Synthesize findings from quadrennial Track and Switch condition surveys to identify areas in need of capital replacement/renewal, confirm job scope/footage, and type of work required. Liaise with Track management to identify areas with poor reliability or underlying conditions in need of remediation. Investigate these areas for potential referral to the Track and Switch Capital program.
The position requires experience in track evaluation, track construction, track maintenance activities, and track scoping. The selected candidate will rotate between day and night tours as needed, to meet projects’ needs and deadlines. Must be organized and detail-oriented, with strong written, verbal, technical/analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.

2nd Year $111,951
3rd Year $115,888
Education and Experience:
Five years of full-time satisfactory experience; at least one (1) year of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.
Desired Skills
Proficiency and experience with NYCT’s MW-1 Track Standards Manual.
Positive working relationships with other groups in MOW Track and MOW Engineering.
Working knowledge of NYCT’s subway system train lines and yards.
Computer-literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word), and in-house Transit computer applications (DRAW, GIS, iRails, TunnelView).Proven track record in effectively advising and interfacing with personnel at all levels in MOW divisions and other groups in Subways and MTA C&D.
