Position Objective:
The purpose of this position is to support the Deputy Director of Track Outage and Scheduling strategies in the implementation of the short- and long-term track outage plans. And work closely with the operations departments to account for the track outage plans. and with project managers to utilize and maximize the track access time. Develops and continuously improves the track outage guidelines and processes through dashboards and KPI analysis to align with agency goals.
Responsibilities:
Act as an intermediary with Engineering, and Construction & Development stakeholders to plan, analyze track outages and implement work that are scheduled and unscheduled. Work closely with the scheduling teams in Operations Planning in the development of employee and public train schedules, operating schedule orders as well as crew schedules and equipment programs in support of approved track outages. In addition, this responsibility includes:
Maintain and Analyze project/outage data for long-term, yearly, and monthly outage dashboard tools for all levels within the organization, including Monthly presentations to Senior Management:
Provide direction to the Operations Planning Scheduling team and appropriate Engineering Department and Capital Projects managers on the operational impacts of future requests for track usage for capital and maintenance projects.
Review range long-range Operating Planning initiatives and assist in the development of draft schedules and equipment programs that demonstrate functionality and suitability.
