Compensation:

Salary Range (Grade B/Hay 839): $109,876- $155,953.

Compression Rate: $149,050

 

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be majorly responsible for overseeing a variety of Operations Support functions including Capital projects, Contract management, RMS and procurement of materials and parts for the Division of Elevators and Escalators (E&E). This includes but is not limited to:

  • E&E Capital Projects Program: Responsible from project profile to close out activities. Responsible for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and other departments for the planning, design reviews, installation, commissioning, warranty, O&M manuals, training   and acceptance of new and replacement elevators and escalators throughout the system abiding to pertaining codes and requirements. Responsibilities also include all technical and administrative functions for E&E support operations.
  • E&E Contracts Management: Will oversee the NYCT E&E maintenance contracts management for third party-maintained equipment, machine shops, glass cleaning, components maintenance and other vendors. This includes overseeing the creation of scopes of work, contract compliance, contractors’ performance, invoice, facilitating resolution to issues that may arise and overall contract management in timely fashion.
  • E&E Remote monitoring system (RMS): Will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including C&D, MTA IT, EMD and others to ensure all elevators and escalators in the system are appropriately monitored. This includes the planning and implementation of the conversion of equipment monitored by the legacy RMS into REMS Plus.
  • E&E Procurement: Will oversee the NYCT E&E material procurement operation. This includes forecasting material and parts, inventory, procurement considering historic data and future planned work to ensure the E&E storerooms are appropriately stocked.

 

The incumbent will also oversee tasks related to E&E Internal Controls & Safety as well as participation in staff selection, coaching, training, development, evaluation & discipline of staff as needed.

 

The selected candidate will work with operating and support managers on day-to-day activities, to evaluate new initiatives, conduct field visits, and make recommendations for process improvements.  Work with internal and external Customers and contracts requirements for reviewing scope and making modifications and reports to senior management for E&E remote monitoring systems.

 

Education and Experience:

A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a satisfactory equivalent. Ten (10) years full-time related experience. Five (5) years of experience in a managerial/supervisory capacity.

An equivalent combination of education and experience from an accredited college may be considered in lieu of a degree.

 

Desired Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge and experience working with of MTA C&D's current Design Build project Process.
  • Extensive knowledge of the construction, operation, maintenance, repair and applicable codes for elevators and escalators.
  • Experience working with Professional & Technical, Supervisory and Hourly Personnel.
  • Knowledge of project management, maintenance, management applications and remote monitoring systems in a fast-paced environment. Extensive knowledge of NYC Transit's operations, budget practices, labor relations and material procurement.
  • Working Knowledge of EAM, and MS Office 365.

 

Selection Method:

Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.

 

All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
