Compensation:

Salary Range: $62,498 - $65,820

Responsibilities:

The incumbent will assist with implementing the Division of Car Equipment New Car testing group. They will assist in the performance of commissioning of newly procured Subway cars with detailed inspections of the car interior, exterior and underfloor. They will also participate in the Qualification Testing at various locations throughout New York City Transit System and review technical documentation to ensure that Car builders meet their contractual obligations for troubleshooting and taking corrective actions.

Education and Experience:

  1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration; or
  2. A masters degree in architecture that is the first professional degree in architecture from an accredited college or university.

Desired Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including excellent technical writing skills.
  • Working knowledge of NYCT operations and procedures.
  • Drivers license valid in NYS.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to multi-task.

Selection Method:

Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.

All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
