SUMMARY:
Supervise the Train Revenue Compliance staff to ensure that tasks are completed timely, accurately and within the guidelines of LIRR Policies and procedures. In addition, this position is responsible for reconciling data and providing detailed analysis and reports to Senior Management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise a staff of 3 analysts and 1 clerk in the area of Revenue Compliance which ensures proper collection and remittance of on-train revenue.
- Handle administrative duties as required including covering position vacancies, payroll, vacation schedules, etc.
- Oversee the training of staff in all train revenue compliance policies and procedures.
- Provide feedback to staff about their performance on a regular basis, documenting any concerns that may need to be addressed.
- Supervise the maintenance, modification, and updates to CSS (LIRR's Revenue system)
- Responsible for reconciliation of OBTIMs Management console to CSS remittance activity and point of contact for related trainmen inquiries/issues.
- Protect Company assets related to revenue compliance by ensuring the collection of outstanding cash owed by trainmen, issuing pads of stock to trainmen and managing ticket punch inventory.
- Provide timely and accurate reports related to revenue compliance, including staff train observations and ticket analysis.
- Organize and perform Trainmen field audits.
- Recommend audit techniques to capture various system data trends and unusual conditions and deviations from standards.
- Interact extensively with various departments, including Transportation, Stations, MTA Police, Information Technology, Sales & Promotions, Automated Ticket Sales, Special Services and Customer Engagement.
- Update the ADL 205 Manual of Instructions to Transportation Train Service Employees, Trainmen Fare Cards and Station hour cards, as required and update in Secure Locker of OBTIMs.
- Maintain OBTIMs Management Console for exception pricing for holidays, service disruptions and special events.
- Oversee Hillside warehouse for storage and disposal of conductor remittances and unused ticket stock.
- Other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Must possess effective written, interpersonal and oral communications skills to be used across various departments.

- Must be proficient in the use of personal computer software applications (Word, Excel, and Access) and LIRR systems (CTAMS, Data Warehouse & Train Crew System).
- Must possess strong work ethic, positive attitude, and professional integrity.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Working knowledge of LIRR revenue collection operations and policies as well as knowledge of LIRR operating timetable.
- Familiarity with the TCU collective bargaining agreements.
- Through knowledge of the LIRR Passenger Tariff and Train Service Manual

80% -1st- 365 calendar days
85% -2nd 365 calendar days
90% -3rd 365 calendar days
95% -4th 365 calendar days
100% -After 1,460 calendar days.
For Employees Hired After 9/24/2014:
80% -1st- 365 calendar days
80% -2nd 365 calendar days
85% -3rd 365 calendar days
90% -4th 365 calendar days
90% -5th 365 calendar days
95% -6th 365 calendar days
100% -After 2,190 calendar days.
New employees may be hired at any step of the wage progression. Employees transferring from other positions on the Rail Road will be placed at the lowest step of the wage progression which represents an increase in pay above their prior base salary; if this step is less than 10% above their prior base salary, the employee will be placed at the next higher step as long as the increase does not exceed the 100% rate of pay for the position.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
- Demonstrated, directly related equivalent experience and education may be considered in lieu of degree (i.e. minimum seven years within either of the following: revenue compliance, train service experience, station operations, bank teller operations, etc.).
- Must possess revenue or auditing experience (3-5 years).
