COMPENSATION

Salary Range- $109,876-$155,953 (Grade B)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is accountable for directing the activities of Signal Engineering by providing engineering designs andresources to support, repair and modify signals system-wide for CBTC, SSI, ATS and PLC solid state systems.

Duties include: researching/introducing safe, efficient, maintainable , reliable and economically-designed
innovations; evaluating new technology signals and equipment; actively participating in the System Safety
certification process for new systems approvals; developing and managing signal software support contracts as well
as distribution of tracking systems and configuration management systems; developing and promoting signal projects
and monitoring the Signal Management Program to ensure SOGR. Additional responsibility includes articulating
MOW needs/requests to MTA/C&D to ensure signal modernization contract specifications and designs to support the
department of Subways. The incumbent must respond to emergencies as required, on a 24 hour/7-day basis.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Baccalaureate degree in business administration, computer science or engineering or a satisfactory equivalent. Eight years of experience are required with at least four years in a managerial or supervisory capacity Extensive experience in the areas of signal design and train control systems required.

DESIRED SKILLS

Knowledge of Signal engineering, CBTC systems, Solid state signal design, system development, inspectiontechniques, construction design standards, maintenance methods and new technology train control systems for EMIrail car testing. Experience in use of computer-aided design, software tools and testing lab equipment.

SELECTION METHOD

Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.All appointments,with the exception ofthe Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
