RESPONSIBILITIES
The Security Project Manager will be responsible for protecting and safeguarding Authority's revenue, property, and personnel through these main functions but not limited to:
Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the functional design, development, and supervision of the installation of both Electronic Security Systems (intrusion alarm systems, access control systems, video management systems, etc.) and Physical Protection Systems (target hardening, fencing, barriers, etc.).
Responsible for designing, planning, and coordination of the functional design and development of physical, electronic, and operational security projects and initiatives.
Manage security contracts for the Internal Security Department, coordinate and oversee the construction of MTA B&T Security Projects.
Coordinate security project planning with other Authority stakeholders as well as participate and provide security input in other projects that require collaboration or be reviewed by security.
QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in engineering, architecture, security management, business administration, project management or public administration or a related field, and five (5) years of full-time satisfactory experience in project management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating, or expediting, for engineering, physical security, and/or architectural projects.
OR Associate’s degree from an accredited college and at least 7 (seven) years of satisfactory full-time experience of full-time satisfactory experience as described above.
OR High school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a state’s department of education, or a recognized accrediting organization and 9 (nine) years of experience as described above.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows based operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other applications.
Ability to perform physical security surveys, including climbing ladders, navigating treacherous terrain, working in roadway or underneath bridge.
Highly organized and detail oriented to keep pace in frequently changing conditions.
Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, including representing B&T at high-level meetings as well as hosting presentations.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Ability to work in a highly confidential environment.
Ability to work rotating and non-traditional tours (evenings, overnight, weekends, holidays, etc.)
Ability to effectively complete multiple critical parallel/concurrent tasks (multi-tasking).
Ability to pass a rigorous background investigation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in the areas of project management.
Superior written and oral communication skills in English.
Ability to travel to any MTA Bridges and Tunnels facility as needed.
Ability to respond 24/7 in emergency situations.
PREFERRED
Knowledge and understanding of TBTA Rules and Regulations.
Experience with an investigative unit/division related to case management.
Experience in mass/public transportation systems environment.
Experience with human behavior pattern and/or trend analysis
Ability to work independently with limited direction.
