Salary Range (Grade E/534): $87,951 (Min) - $124,834 (Max)
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for managing a team of engineering personnel to evaluate outside contractor rail equipment for use on NYCT’s wayside and infrastructure. These duties are carried out in support of MTA C&D capital programs and internal NYCT projects to maintain the wayside/infrastructure in a state of good working order, and facilitate improvements such as modern signaling installations. This position will require technical and field evaluations of contractor equipment to ensure conformance to interdepartmental Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) to maintain safe introduction and operation of specialized equipment within NYCT’s operating environment. This work is critical to maintain contract schedules while maintaining the highest levels of safety. Prepare technical requirements, master plans, etc. for specialized work equipment contracts and projects.
Education and Experience:
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and six (6) years of satisfactory related experience, and three (3) years of experience in a managerial/supervisory capacity, OR
A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) Certification required.
