Summary
Assistant Manager, Safety provides project-level safety support and oversight:
Responsibilities
Participate in project meetings, including qualification, construction, safety kickoffs, job progress, and program area meetings.
Review and provide comments and recommendations for acceptance/approval of contractor safety-related submittals (Contractor Accident Prevention Programs, Safe Work Plans, safety personnel submittals, enclosures, temporary barriers, etc.
Conduct interviews with contractor safety personnel.
Monthly and quarterly review/analysis of assessment findings and reported contractor accidents.
Provide monthly and quarterly assessment summaries to management, detailing the project and program strengths and areas for improvement.
Conduct design reviews of proposed project specifications and drawings to address all applicable safety concerns before the award.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degrees in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Safety Engineering, Safety Management, or Construction Safety or a related field.
Must have a minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
Competencies:
Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.
Experience with construction safety contractor management programs or providing oversight for 3rd party services/contractors.
Possess a valid OSHA 30-hour card in the Construction Industry under five years old.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient computer skills (i.e., Windows environment, Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc.) and strong business administrative skills (i.e., presentations, report and letter writing, time management, etc.).
Driver's License (required for some Business Units)
