Staff Analyst Trainee I (TA): $46,171 (Min) - $48,938 (Max) (New Hire Rate: $40,149)
Staff Analyst Trainee II (TA): $49,864 (Min) - $55,406 (Max) (New Hire Rate: $43,361)

Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for performing several critical tasks for MTA Procurement including assisting with the preparation of various monthly budget and HR reports. The incumbent will assist with rigorous data research and analysis, the preparation of chargebacks/cost-allocations to other Departments or Agencies, and the Department’s annual internal control review. The prospective candidate will also be responsible for providing on-going strategic communication to internal and external stakeholders including OMB, People Department and hiring managers. They will facilitate and conduct meetings as necessary. Several other duties will be assigned including, but not limited to:
- Reconciling employee headcount, tracking attrition and paid overtime usage.
- Consulting with recruiters and hiring managers to ensure hiring goals and objectives are met by maintaining accurate and up-to-date recruitment activity reports.
- Assisting hiring managers with the timely preparation of staffing recruitment packages
- Effectively managing the demands of multiple hiring managers.
- As allowed by the job description of that staff analyst level into which the candidate is hired, the candidate will assume the administrative responsibilities in the absence of the supervisor.
- Special projects as assigned by supervisor.
Education and Experience
Staff Analyst Trainee I:
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; or
- An associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits from an accredited college or university and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following areas: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; or in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; or in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification; or in personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State’s Department of Education, or a recognized accrediting organization and four years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in “2” above; or
- A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to “1”, “2”, or “3” above. College education may be substituted for professional experience at the rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university for one year of experience. However, all candidates must have a high school diploma or its education equivalent.
Staff Analyst Trainee II:
Completion of 1 year of satisfactory service as a Staff Analyst Trainee 1
