JOB TITLE: Supervisor of Material (Represented)
SALARY RANGE: $ 88,285.15 - $ 110,356.44
DEPT/DIV: Procurement Department
SUPERVISOR: Assistant Deputy Chief M&D Warehouse
LOCATION: Various
HOURS OF WORK: 7:30 am - 3:30 pm

SUMMARY:
Responsible for the supervision and planning of the activities of approximately 30 Stores department employees in the receipt, storage and distribution of LIRR materials and supplies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise Stores Department employees represented by the Transportation Communications Union.
- Monitor and correct problems with the Stores warehouse equipment (WMS/Hi-low move manager) and any technical problems as they arise.
- Ensure that material is shipped and delivered in a safe and timely manner.
- Supervise staff to set up and maintain new as well as existing satellite warehouse.
- Ensure work is performed in a safe manner.
- Ensure that all supervised TCU employees' records are updated for attendance, training and safety.
- Ensure policies and procedures for all functions are implemented and followed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED
- A four-year High School Diploma or its educational equivalent (GED) as approved by a State’s Department of Education or recognized accredited organization.
- Must possess a solid materials management background with a minimum of six years’ experience in warehousing, logistics and receiving of material.
- Must possess prior supervisory experience.
- Must be familiar with the automated material handling system.
- Must be familiar with the policy and procedures of the Procurement & Logistics Department related to the Stores Section.
- Must be familiar with all aspects of a Stores receiving operations, vehicle fleet operations and shop floor operations.
- Must have strong computer skills (Windows application).
PREFERRED
- PeopleSoft experience.
- Maximo experience.
