JOB TITLE:                     Supervisor of Material (Represented)  
SALARY RANGE:          $ 88,285.15 - $ 110,356.44  
DEPT/DIV:                      Procurement Department               

SUPERVISOR:                Assistant Deputy Chief M&D Warehouse

SUMMARY:  
Responsible for the supervision and planning of the activities of approximately 30 Stores department employees in the receipt, storage and distribution of LIRR materials and supplies.  
  
RESPONSIBILITIES:  
  • Supervise Stores Department employees represented by the Transportation Communications Union.
  • Monitor and correct problems with the Stores warehouse equipment (WMS/Hi-low move manager) and any technical problems as they arise.
  • Ensure that material is shipped and delivered in a safe and timely manner.
  • Supervise staff to set up and maintain new as well as existing satellite warehouse.
  • Ensure work is performed in a safe manner.
  • Ensure that all supervised TCU employees' records are updated for attendance, training and safety.
  • Ensure policies and procedures for all functions are implemented and followed.
  
  
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  
REQUIRED  
  • A four-year High School Diploma or its educational equivalent (GED) as approved by a State’s Department of Education or recognized accredited organization.
  • Must possess a solid materials management background with a minimum of six years’ experience in warehousing, logistics and receiving of material.
  • Must possess prior supervisory experience.
  • Must be familiar with the automated material handling system.
  • Must be familiar with the policy and procedures of the Procurement & Logistics Department related to the Stores Section.
  • Must be familiar with all aspects of a Stores receiving operations, vehicle fleet operations and shop floor operations.
  • Must have strong computer skills (Windows application).
  
PREFERRED             
  • PeopleSoft experience.
  • Maximo experience.

Step 1 - New WP 80%  
Step 2 - New WP 80% 
Step 3 -  New WP 85% 
Step 4 -  New WP 90%  
Step 6 - New WP 95% 
Step 7 - New WP 100%
