COMPENSATION
Salary Range: $95,385 - $141,539 - Hay Grade C
RESPONSIBILITIES
This selected incumbent will be responsible for managing engineering and architectural personnel engaged in repair initiatives and design of various elements of facilities and structures throughout the NYCT system. This includes supervising staff who provide design drawings using MicroStation to support in-house forces and outside contractors engaged in repair and construction of NYCT facilities and structures. The Senior Director is also responsible for: Scheduling and coordinating NYCT Station Surveys and Platform Gap Measurements as well as providing technical support to various departments throughout NYCT such as, but not limited to, the Real Estate and Law Depts; acting as the project coordinator for projects involving multiple disciplines within the Infrastructure Division, e.g., Employee Facility Rehabilitations, to ensure projects being done by in-house forces or outside contractors having complete scopes of work, capture all costs including support costs; meet user requirements and move forward in a timely manner. This position provides technical support for current NYCT contracts such as, but not limited to, Roofing, Plumbing, Fencing, Paving and General Construction, as well as reviewing submittals from outside parties for concessions built on NYCT property to ensure adherence to applicable codes, specifications, safety standards and NYCT policies.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in Architecture, Engineering, or a satisfactory equivalent, and eight (8) years of full-time related experience, and (4) four years in a managerial/supervisory capacity.
* Must have a NYS Registered Architect or NYS P.E. (Professional Engineer) license
DESIRED SKILLS
Knowledge of NYCT Design Guidelines, NY State and City Building Codes and construction design standards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
SELECTION METHOD
Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.
All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
