RESPONSIBILITIES
This position addresses the strategically important need to improve the quality of critical business and customer service-related decisions through the careful gathering, analysis and presentation of data related to the MTA Bridges & Tunnels E-ZPass program operating in partnership with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the New York State Thruway Authority as the E-ZPass New York Customer Service Center (NYCSC).
The need to provide insightful and actionable information on program performance, trends, and operational efficiency grows exponentially as the size and complexity of the agency’s toll collection, financial management, and customer service operations continue to grow.
This creates the need to collect and mine data from various internal and external primary and secondary sources to develop, dashboards, infographics, visualizations, reports, and presentations.
Under the direction of the E-ZPass Contract Director, the Tolling Data Analyst will collaborate with members of the Intelligent Transportation and Tolling Systems’ (ITS&T) Tolling Department, agency partners as well as internal and external stakeholders to drive data driven initiatives, conduct research projects, complete statistical calculations, and respond to formal and informal inquiries of the current, past, and or future state of the tolling program.
Design and develop tools and methodologies that identify, capture, interpret, and display information related to TBTA tolling operations and customer service programs.
Prepare presentations, reports, dashboards, and other materials related to tolling operations and projects.
Participate in other special research projects to support agency needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a business discipline Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field
Five (5) years of experience managing and presenting data for a large business enterprise or public organization
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of applications
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Technical writing skills and excellent attention to detail
Experience with statistical software
Reporting and visualization skills utilizing tools such as MS Power BI
PREFERRED
Two (2) years of the five (5) years’ experience in tolling, transportation, or mobility programs.
Data modeling skills
Structure Query Language (SQL) experience
Presentation skills
Machine learning skills
Coding skills in languages such as Oracle and Python

MTA Bridges and Tunnels is governed by the Civil Service Rules and Regulations administered by the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS).
