$120,255 to $157,835

Summary

 

The Senior Engineering Director Level 2 will demonstrate their ability to work independently and in a team, along with the ability to manage and succeed in a fast-paced engineering environment. This candidate will have a proven ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment and consultation.

 

Responsibilities

Assists in leading a team of engineers involved in the concept modification, analysis, and review of third-party projects that may impact MTA C&D projects.

 

Acts as a team lead in the coordination of detailed design reviews for all aspects of design reviews for third-party projects that may impact MTA structures and properties.

 

Uses a variety of software and programs to develop/review analysis design and plan preparation/review.

 

Prepares, reviews, and/or approves proposals, easement reviews, and determinations.

 

Assists the Project Management team through creative problem-solving during interactions with Agency Owners and by completing tasks to meet the project schedule.

 

Provides engineering oversight of construction and inspection support on active construction projects.

 

Reviews the work of peers and communicates constructive feedback.

 

Works with the Project Management team for project reviews, change procedures, etc.

 

Education and Experience

 

Bachelor of Science degree in the appropriate Engineering disciplines (Civil, Structural, Geotechnical).

 

Masters preferred.

 

Must have a minimum of fourteen (14) years of related experience.

 

Must have a minimum of eight (8) years in a management or supervisory role and/or project manager role in a large, multi-faceted organization.

 

Competencies: 

 

Registered NYS Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required and will sign and seal.

 

Experience performing site inspections, documenting site conditions and construction activities, coordinating with Agency Owner and contractor staff, and responding to contractor requests for information.

 

Experience in NYCT systems preferred.

 

Knowledge of applicable industry and NYS building and design codes and standards.

 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Must have focus and ability to deliver on results, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.

 

Must possess excellent team building, listening, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.

 

Proficiency in current design and engineering software and Microsoft Office are required.

 

Has experience in interpreting engineering reports and analysis.

 

An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee culture is a must.

 

Able to multi-task and be flexible/adapt to rapidly changing project requirements/timelines.

 

Knowledge of the capital design and construction process.
