Summary
The Manager, Writer, and Content works within the newly consolidated MTA Construction & Development Advertising & Promotions team to write and edit promotional content for marketing materials and web pages supporting deals, discounts, destinations, and other promotions. The incumbent will focus on effectively engaging our riders and informing them of various benefits and discounts. This role creates, schedules, and publishes promotional content on MTA's marketing assets, including our websites, e-blasts, social media posts, digital screens, and more.
Responsibilities
Write and edit engaging, rider-focused content for various MTA-owned media assets.
Write and route copy for approval.
Contribute to web content strategy for promotions on mta.info and away.mta.info.
Work within content management systems to publish content on websites.
Work within social media platforms to publish content to social media accounts.
Gather web metrics and contribute to monthly reporting on how riders utilize deals and promotions.
Contribute to a seasonal calendar of events, deals, and promotions.
Contribute to a monthly promotional calendar and other reporting.
Collaborate with social media teams to draft and schedule posts.
Regularly communicate with partners throughout the organization, including agencies and other business units.
Analyze past promotions to understand their effectiveness and suggest improvements.
Advocate for and implement new ideas, process improvements, and other ways to improve efficiency.
Identify, analyze, and implement new creative marketing opportunities (e.g., contests and events).
Collaborate with the Promotions and Business Development team to execute campaigns.
Enhance the MTA brand by providing creative, fun, and interesting content that helps brands and organizations effectively reach our riders.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
Possess a minimum of five (5) years of editorial development (writing and editing) experience or knowledge of social media, digital marketing, and print marketing.
Exceptional writer and communicator.
Creative and proactive problem solver.
Creative production and overall program management experience are a plus.
