Compensation:
Staff Analyst I (TA): $58,934 (Min) - $69,771 (Max) (New Hire Rate: $51,245)

Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will provide analytical and administrative support related to the back shop repair efforts at the Central Electronics Shop. The selected candidate will be responsible for administrative support of CES as the timekeeping and telephone system liaison. In addition, the selected candidate will be required to create and maintain databases and provide analytical conclusions with reference to equipment repairs performed at CES. This position is required to conduct studies, collect, organize, and perform statistical analysis of CES repair throughput data; prepare and present reports and graphs relative to existing as well as future procedural and operational tasks performed at CES and make recommendations for improved efficiency with regards to production planning and repair processes. The selected candidate will also maintain records and generate quarterly billing invoices related to MOU obligations with other MTA Agencies; monitor and support efforts related to the Subway's SMS program and assist in the establishment of a back shop maintenance plan to support NFPS - OMNY equipment repairs at CES.

Education and Experience:
Staff Analyst I-II
1. A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, or urban studies, or a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school; or

2.
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of satisfactory full time professional experience in one or a combination of the following areas: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or in a related area; or

3.
An associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits from an accredited college or university and four years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "2" above; or

4.
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "2" above; or

5.
A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2", "3", or "4" above. College education may be substituted for professional experience at the rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university for one year of experience. However, all candidates must have a high school diploma.

Associate Staff Analyst
1. Desired Skills 

  • Strong analytical abilities, quantitative, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in creating and manipulating queries, creating, and generating reports, importing, and exporting data in SPEAR and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to learn quickly with a focus on high productivity.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
