Compensation

Salary Range: $83,309 - $123,620 (Grade E - 551 hay points)
UTLO rate: $122,500

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and monitoring of an environmental and industrial safety program for Buses. The incumbent will participate in the development, implementation and integration of department-specific policies and instructions pertaining to environmental and industrial safety and/or transportation operations.

Additional duties may include:
• Preparing and maintaining the Buses’ safety rules, Regulatory agency reports, regulations guidebook.
• Preparing and maintaining the Buses’ safety rules, Regulatory agency reports, regulations guidebook.
• Acting as liaison for Buses with the Office of System Safety and/or external regulatory agencies to ensure Buses’ compliance with all applicable regulations.
• Serving as a member of Industrial Safety and GSSEM committees.
• Conduct facility inspection to ensure Safety and Environmental Compliance
• Directing the development, implementation, and monitoring of Employee On-Duty Lost-Time Accident (LTA) prevention programs, such as the department-wide Safety Goal Action Plan (SGAP), System Safety Program Plan (SSPP). HCP Hearing conservation compliance

Education and Experience

1. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in Transportation Management, Engineering, or a related field and eight (8) years of full-time related experience, at least three(3) years of which must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity.

2. A satisfactory equivalent of combined education and experience requirements.

Desired Skills
• Knowledge of NYCT Rules and Regulations.• Knowledge of NYCT Rules and Regulations.• Knowledge of Buses’ Policies and Procedures.• Knowledge of OSHA standards, FDNY codes, and accident investigation principles.
• Knowledge of the techniques, policies and methods of identification and resolution of hazardous conditions.
• Knowledge of the techniques, policies and methods of identification and resolution of hazardous conditions.
• Knowledge of applicable labor agreements, NYCT Policy/Instructions, and various federal, state and local laws, etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Knowledge and documented use of software applications, such as MS Access, Excel, Word, Outlook and Tableau.
