Salary: $104,077 - $134,293

Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will provide direct oversight of EMD's Telecommunications Capital Contract Compliance group and will manage the day-to-day support functions for all communications work for numerous, simultaneous Capital Projects and operating initiatives. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to: designing, reviewing and commenting factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, and system integration testing; equipment installations; access and protection testing; resolution of punch lists; beneficial use sign off and final acceptance sign off.  The selected candidate will provide input on strategic decision making – working with MOW Engineering, C&D Engineering, advocating for the Department of Subways Operating Groups; and provide final approval for all communications bulletins and understands all potential systems impacted and ensures all safeguards are in place.  The selected candidate will also be responsible for the tracking and assignment of communication circuits and services for NYCT's operating communication networks such as a ASYNC fiber, SONET/ATM and COE to support installations, remedial reassignments, and emergency response requirements as well as liaise with C&D, MOW, the Division of Stations and Department of Subways, Senior & Executive staffs providing contract/project status updates with potential service impacts, delays and operational vulnerabilities.

Education and Experience:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Computer Science, Communications, or a closely related field of study, and ten (10) years of full-time related experience; of which seven (7) years must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity; Or

A satisfactory combination of education and experience.

Desired Skills

  • Experience serving in a Lead Technical Role in Telecommunications or Network Engineering environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Telecommunications industry systems, applications, and standards.
  • Strong knowledge of NYCTs Capital Program and the Design Build processes.
  • Strong knowledge of the Communications/Electrical Bulletin processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret contract documents and drawings.
  • Experience in Project Management, Project Lifecycle, and scheduling practices.
  • Knowledge of NYCT Rules and Regulations
  • Knowledge of NYCTs Operations and Safety Policies.
  • Experience managing in a 24 x 7 operating environment.
