Compensation

Salary range: $102,033 (min) - $ 131,656 (mid) - $161,278 Grade B, 789 hay points

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for overseeing the Electro-Mechanical Division for MOW Engineering and providing technical engineering design and support for all subdivisions of Maintenance of Way and Customer Environment and Facilities, including Elevator & Escalators, Buildings, Facilities,
Stations, Yards and Barns. Duties and responsibilities for the Electro-Mechanical unit are:
developing specifications, scopes, project profiles, designs, estimates, construction drawings, and
technical field support for Infrastructure in-house and operating divisions. The Sr. Director will
be managing an engineering staff having expertise in Electrical Systems: Which includes electrical
power distribution rooms, Utility services, Generators, ATS and UPS Systems. Mechanical systems
Includes: HVAC, Fire Suppression, Sprinklers, Plumbing, Domestic water, Drainage, and boilers. This
Position will be evaluating new technology, ensuring that designs/installations adhere to
specifications, codes, industry practices and safety standards, as well as NYCT policies for
maintenance and construction work; reviewing C&D capital projects, PRDC’S, and Design -Build
Contracts and managing Electrical Bulletins. Additionally, all managers in MOW must be prepared to react/respond to emergencies and other critical occurrences, as required, 24 hours a day/7 days a
week.

Education and Experience

Baccalaureate degree in Engineering. 8 years of full time related professional experience, 4 years
of which must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity. P.E. license in engineering is
required.

Desired Skills

Experience in the following areas: electrical, mechanical and/or systems design experience,
familiarity with all applicable regulations and codes as well as safety policies. Familiarity with
the continuing/evolving ADA rules and experience in using NYS Codes, NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, ASME Codes which are nationally recognized standards. Excellent interpersonal, oral, written, organization and negotiating skills, demonstrated engineering decision-making, and ability to work independently and as part of a team of professionals are all essential.

Selection Method

Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.

 

All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
