Summary
The Senior Manager Quality is responsible for quality functions related to the MTA C&D Business Unit project and program activities. The Senior Manager provides quality guidance utilizing functional, quality, and engineering best practices, analytics, reporting, and continuous improvement concepts and ensures timely actions to meet ISO 9001 registration requirements.
This role works with in-house C&D personnel, Contractors, Consultants, and Vendors in securing improvements and providing guidance and implementation strategies as needed while ensuring the quality of construction oversight, materials used, vendor services, and installation facilities.
Responsibilities
Supports the C&D Business Units’ Quality Assessment Programs, including identifying assessment candidates based on trend analysis and C&D management feedback and requests.
Provides reports and updates on quality activities and status for presentation to Senior Management.
Performs Business Unit quality activities, including:
Participation in project reviews and meetings with contractor/consultant personnel to highlight quality processes and requirements and to emphasize C&D commitment to quality.
Initiation and development of contractor/consultant corrective action and continual improvement programs to ensure timely and adequate resolution of quality issues and to initiate continuous improvement activities.
Review and analysis of quality oversight activity results to identify process or documentation changes to address recurring issues
Works with C&D Corporate Quality personnel to identify and initiate improvements in C&D processes, requirements, and activities to ensure the successful execution of the MTA C&D Capital Program.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or Project Management, Transportation, or a related field.
Must have a minimum of seven (7) years of related experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Competencies:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity and hands-on experience with Quality concepts and processes, including ISO 9001.
Must have focus and ability to deliver results, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
Must possess excellent team-building, listening, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
Proficient computer skills (i.e., Windows environment, Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc.) and strong business administrative skills (i.e., presentations, report and letter writing, time management, etc.).
