Compensation:

Salary range:  $88,539 - $139,949
Grade D/594 hay points
Compression rate: $131,500

Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for ensuring the 24x7 reliable operation of the VHF Radio (NYPD and RTO Radios), UHF Radio (EMS, FDNY and NYPD Radios), CCTV, and Security Systems. Responsibilities include managing the maintenance and repair of communication systems such as Penta PMx (IP-Based Digital Communications System) and Penta PCx (Analog Communication Control System); coordinating and monitoring repairs with internal and external customers to ensure reliable operation of all Radio and Security Systems; overseeing security assets and maintaining communication rooms in the system. From time to time, the incumbent may be asked to fill in the absence of the General Superintendent.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or its (educational) equivalent and eight (8) years of related experience of which five (5) years must have been in managerial or supervisory capacity; or

A satisfactory combination of education and experience

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Telecommunications and/or Electronics Maintenance.
  • Theoretical and operational experience in Radio Communication, Telecommunication, and Security Systems.
  • Experience working in a 24/7 operation is essential.
  • Proficient in reviewing system diagrams, operating and system test procedures.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with MS Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
