This position is eligible for telework which is currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective date of hire.
SUMMARY:
The Financial Data Associate Level I, II, and III provides varying levels of support and analysis dependent on the level to the Revenue Analysis Unit. Each level is differentiated by the level of complexity needed for various type of analysis. i.e., the least complex analysis is done by the Level I, moderately complex analysis is done by the Level II, and the most complex analysis is conducted by the Level III. The main role of the Financial Data Associate is processing, analyzing, and providing quality control on transit data pertaining to fare collections and fare sales, as well as analyzing, interpreting, and creating reports on transit ridership, revenue, and other transportation financial data. This position will use data analysis tools, reporting tools, Microsoft Office suite, and more. In addition, this position is also required to assist or independently conduct data maintenance work on a large-scale database, responsible for in-house database modifications to incorporate changes in fare structure, in reporting requirements or based on business needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain and manage data pertaining to fare collection, revenue, and ridership on New York City public transport in database.
The decision making described below will vary in complexity dependent on the assigned Levels I and II.
Has limited level of authority for decision making, which is subject to approval by departmental management. Decision-making authority over their immediate responsibilities is routine or semi-routine with some diversification and occurs within established, detailed practices and instructions and/or with immediately available assistance.
The decision making described below will apply to the incumbent in the Level III role:
Has some level of authority for the decision making, staffing, and budget for their functional area of responsibility, subject to approval regarding the most significant Business and Policy issues by departmental management and/or Senior Management. Decision-making authority over their functional area of responsibility is within well-defined, somewhat diversified procedures and precedents.
